All browser based data transfer operations including file and folder share use 128-bit SSL encryption during transmission. IBackup Drive, the Network mapping application has SSL encryption enabled by default. IBackup for Windows, the scheduler application offers 128-bit SSL encryption on transfers, optional 256-bit proprietary encryption on storage with a user-defined encryption key that is not stored anywhere on IBackup servers.

Before I login via browser, the site does not show pad-lock related to SSL encryption. Is my login secure?

Once you enter your username/password, subsequent communication is via 128 bit SSL including the username/password portion, and others cannot view the information as clear text. You should also see the pad-lock sign once you login. But when you just navigate to http://www.ibackup.com, the site is not secure as with almost any site on simple navigation.
